Dan Druml of McKinley Avenue LLC wants $11 million in City bonds to finance redevelopment of the blocks north of the Park East corridor, including 1311 N. 6th St., 623 W. Vliet St., 1354 N. 7th St., 1322 N. 8th St. and 724 W. McKinley. Will be heard at the Redevelopment Authority meeting November 19th.
Druml's River Corner LLC wants $3 million to construct an office / industrial facility at 1966 S. 4th St.
Druml is the owner of Paul Davis Restoration, 2000 S. 4th St. The 4th Street site would certainly benefit from proposed improvements in the strategic Kinnickinnic River basin, where scores of homes just upstream from his facility are to be demolished for flood control purposes.
And, a plan will also be heard for construction of 250,000 s.f. of housing in the Park East corridor itself at 406 N. Ogden Avenue, in block bounded by Ogden, E. Lyon St., N. Jefferson and N. Milwaukee streets by Park East Square LLC of Illinois. Finally!
Alderman Bauman was hinting around that we might be hearing about some decent-sized projects, and this might be the announcement we've been waiting for, as well as a catalyst to get the Park East corridor moving.
