MEETING WEDNESDAY FOR EAST VILLAGE DISTRICT

Ald. Nik Kovac sent a letter to residents of a Brady Street area neighborhood announcing a meeting to be held Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 at 7 P.M. at Riverview Housing, 1300 E. Kane Place. According to the 3rd District Alderman, the letter and accompanying documents are:

"the beginning of a formal community conversation about whether or not the City of Milwaukee should reform, repeal, or leave as is a unique zoning category that has applied to your neighborhood since 2005:  the Historic Conservation Overlay District."

Oops! Kovac got the title wrong. The proper style is "East Village Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District."
"Historic" does not appear anywhere in the name.

There will be a fundraiser for Lipscomb this evening, Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Mo's Irish Pub, 142 W. Wisconsin Avenue. ... Rep. Pedro Colon will have an event Thursday, October 1st, 2009 at Great Lakes Distillery, 616 W. Virginia St.

Eamon Guerin is a bright young man who would bring great insight to the district. Insight that the current Alder is lacking.
