BUFFALO WATER BEER BAR TO MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MARKET

MARKET WOULD THEN BE FULLY LEASED

By Michael Horne

The Historic Third Ward Association has leased space to a new entity, Buffalo Water Beer Bar, which hopes to open a beer stand at the Milwaukee Public Market in September.
The featured product, of course, will be Buffalo Water Bison Blonde All Malt Lager Beer. I've been involved with the beer since 2007, when Buffalo Water was just an intersection and not an actual product, so this has been loads of fun. Here is the release.

The bar will fill the space east of Thief Wine Shop & Bar and the Green Kitchen now used for general seating since the departure of Ceriello's. It will be astride Rupena's Fine Foods and the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe. With its arrival, the market will be fully leased.

Plans call for a 16 foot bar with seating for 10, four tap lines and bottled goods in a cooler. The beer bar is also expected to serve pizza, another first for the market. The space will require only minor modifications, and a taxidermist is busily working away mounting a Bison head to be displayed there.
Buffalo Water Beer Bar, Peter Gohsman, agent, will apply for a Class "B" tavern license to be heard at the September 9th 2009 meeting of the Milwaukee Common Council Licenses Committee.
If approved by the full Common Council on September 22nd, 2009, the taps should then flow immediately.
