MAYOR, COUNCIL, RECOGNIZE CRAFT BEER WEEK IN MILWAUKEE
The Document is Examined for Authenticity Prior to Being Framed
Here is the Mayoral Proclamation

A free beer tasting at the Milwaukee Ale House this afternoon, Thursday, May 14th 2009 is one of the events celebrating American Craft Beer Week in Milwaukee
Mayor Tom Barrett is expected to issue a document proclaiming Craft Beer Week in Milwaukee. The proclamation recognizes the contribution of the craft beer industry to the community. According to the proclamation:
"The Brewers, Distributors and Retailers of Craft Beers provide significant employment to Milwaukeeans while promoting and enhancing the City’s cultural heritage and social vibrancy."
A convoy of beer delivery trucks, including the 1933 Ford of Milwaukee Brewing Company, and a much newer Ford from Buffalo Water Brewery will join vehicles from Beechwood Distributors and Beer Capitol in a cruise through downtown streets commencing at the Ale House at 11:15 p.m.
There will be a German Toast to Craft Beers at the Ale House at 12:15 p.m. All legal aged supporters of craft beers are invited.
Later that afternoon, representatives of Milwaukee's Craft beer industry, including those from Lakefront Brewery, Sprecher Brewery and others will accept a Common Council Commendation sponsored by Ald. Nik Kovac, whose district was the birthplace of the craft beer movement in Milwaukee, and remains a staunch outpost.
I'm in the thick of this one, and it should be fun. I'll have photos and the text of the Mayor's Proclamation and the Council's Commendation as they are released.
