STIMULUS WATCH TRACKS CITY'S $600MM REQUEST

A new website called Stimulus Watch allows visitors to search, track, and comment on shovel-ready projects submitted for funding by the federal government. The website allows search by state, locality, project cost, and allows readers to rate them from most critical to least critical.
Here is the list of Milwaukee's $600 million in suggested projects.
In Wisconsin, final say on funding is the province of the State of Wisconsin Office of Recovery and Reinvestment, established by Governor Jim Doyle on "this twenty-third day of January two thousand nine" by Executive Order #274.
That agency's website is also interactive, and allows visitors to submit their own proposals for funding. Go ahead and try!
The ORR (slogan: "Putting people to work. Rebuilding Wisconsin. Getting the Economy Moving." ) is staffed by the Department of Administration, and is headed by Gary J. Wolter, Esq. [U. Iowa '82] working as a volunteer while continuing his duties as Chairman, President and CEO of Madison Gas and Electric. Wolter has donated over $12,000 to the Doyle campaign funds over the years, but he hasn't given the governor a penny since last June, when he donated $1,000. But that was well before we ever conceived of an Office or Recovery and Reinvestment.
