Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser, elected unopposed Tuesday, June 10th, 2008, appointed Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Racine County Bureau reporter Jennie Tunkieicz as his administrative assistant Wednesday. A call to Tunkieicz at her newspaper number resulted in a recorded message that she was no longer with the publication. A call to bureau chief Michael Juley to determine when Tunkieicz left her job also was greeted with a recorded message. Tunkieicz served as president of the Milwaukee Newspaper Guild [Local 51], which in blue-collar Kenosha politics is akin to being a University of Chicago professor with a Nobel Prize. We will update this story with the Journal Sentinel report on their former colleague's appointment when it is reported in that publication. This may take some time, so please be patient.
[Update: Friday, June 13th, 2008 The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has published a post about its former employee and her new position.--Ed.]
