In an unusual move, two freshmen aldermen are expected to be named by President Willie Hines, Jr. to the City of Milwaukee Common Council's prestigious Finance & Personnel committee today.
Nik Kovac and Milele Coggs, both elected this month, will serve along with Joe Dudzik, Robert J. Bauman and returning chair Michael Murphy. Aldermen Joe Davis Sr. and Robert G. Donovan will be leaving the panel.
The Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development committee, formerly chaired by departed alderman Michael D'Amato, will be chaired by James Witkowiak. Witkowiak's position at the head of the Licenses committee will be filled by former vice chair James Bohl.
D'Amato's seat as chair of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee will be filled by Ashanti Hamilton, according to City Hall sources.
