BREAK IN AT TAYLOR HQ NOT POLITICAL CRIME

The campaign offices of Sen. Lena Taylor were burglarized some time between March 25th, 2008 and March 26th, 2008, her Milwaukee county executive campaign confirmed this evening.
The thief is believed to have hidden in the basement of the building at 3428 W. State St. before stealing electronic equipment including a laptop computer and a digital camera, according to campaign manager John Zapfel. He said police told him they had seen a number of similar crimes in the vicinity, and added that no sensitive information was on the devices. "All of our information is password protected," he said.
Zapfel also said there was no indication of any political motive behind the theft.
Taylor was unavailable for comment, being on the campaign trail as always. You go, girl! Even without your laptop and camera.
FEINGOLD TO JOIN TAYLOR AT EVENT THIS EVENING
Milwaukee gets another senatorial visit this week when Russell Feingold drops in to Three, 722 N. Milwaukee St., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this evening, Friday, March 28th, 2008. He'll be there to cheer on Lena Taylor in her quest for County Executive. Sen. Feingold will probably have something to say about current events in Washington and abroad. It will be refreshing to hear a little old fashioned Bush-bashing from Russ. I've grown weary of his colleagues Obama and Clinton bashing each other. Time to get back to basics!

if there was no sensitive information on the devices, why is the information password protected?

I think the professional thing to do would be to always use password protection for any electronic device that may or may not have sensitive information on it.
The campaign took the absolutely proper measures with its device, and your comment is meaningless.I find this is often the case with anonymous comments.
