THE ISEMAN COMETH!
"I feel like I'm standing on top of a wedding cake" -- Vicki

The milwaukeeworld design staff has created a Do-It-Yourself Vicki Iseman Mask, soon to be seen at political rallies from Texas to Ohio! Especially for you from www.milwaukeeworld.com.
"Then, seven male lobbyists, at $3,000 each-- $21,000; one female lobbyist, $10,000; a high moral Congressman or Senator here and there--the high moral ones cost more, because they.
give tone to a measure--say ten of these at $3,000 each, is $30,000..."
--Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner. The Gilded Age, Chapter XXVII
I still haven't recovered from the initial shock of seeing Cindy Lou Hensley McCain (Mrs. John Sidney, III) in all her blondian radiance, and now I am further distraught to find she may have a rival for her husband's affection. According to news reports, lobbyist Vicki Iseman, pictured here, may have enjoyed special access to the powerful Arizona senator and contender for the presidency.
She has been busy with matters before the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, which was chaired by Sen. McCain in 1997-2001 and in 2003-2005. Alcalde and Fay, where she is a partner, is the 18th largest lobbying firm in Washington, with billings of $44 million last year.
Apparently the senator is telling his side of the story to the press this morning. Oh, but I would so much rather hear what Mrs. McCain has to say! I'm sure she and Ms. Iseman could become bestest of friends if they just had a civil tete a tete. The Huffington Post tells us the two resemble each other so much they could be twins!
Ms. Iseman's biography had been yanked from the Alcalde and Fay website, [it's back up--Ed.] I have a copy of it here for you: She is a graduate of Indiana University -- of Pennsylvania! That's sort of like Miami University of Ohio.
MIAMI PAYS ISEMAN $1,940,000
Miami Dade County (Florida) has paid Iseman's firm over $1,940,000 since 1998, according to records. Another client, the Arison Family Trust, owns the Miami Heat basketball franchise and Carnival Cruise Lines. Alcalde Fay is the go-to firm for sea travel lobbying, it appears, with over $5,000,000 billings during that period.
BIG FUNDRAISER? SAYS WHO?
Vicki Iseman brags that she is an "active fundraiser" and that she has "participated in many political fundraising events." Well, maybe so, as long as it doesn't involve reaching into her own purse! According to Federal Election Commission records, her total campaign donations since 1999 consist of $250 to Sen. Arlen Specter in 2007 and $300 to Ronald P. Klink in 1999. (Ronald P. Who?) Klink was a Pennsylvania congressman and Democrat who ran for the Senate in 2000. Since when does a lousy $550 qualify as "active" fundraising?
