UW MADISON IN JEOPARDY!
First it's Antiques Roadshow -- Milwaukee. Now it's Madison's turn to host a national television broadcast.
Could I have "Fabulous" for $1,000 please, Alex?
The University of Wisconsin will host the 9th Annual College Jeopardy! championships in spring, 2008, the show announced yesterday, November 1st, 2007.
Ten episodes of the quiz show will be recorded before an audience at the Kohl Center on April 11th and 12th. Thanks to the video time warp in which talk shows exist, the two days work will translate into two weeks of television entertainment, as the shows will air from May 5th to May 16th 2008. Contestants from colleges yet to be announced will vie for a guaranteed top prize of $100,000. Traditionally, however, one slot is reserved for a student at the host university. In Milwaukee, Jeopardy! airs weekdays at 6 p.m. on WDJT, Channel 58. Station management was not immediately available for comment, saying that they had not been released by Jeopardy! to do so. (Merv Griffin's reach extends beyond the grave.) They promise a statement when they are released from their vows by their Hollywood overlords.
Tickets to attend the tapings will be available after the end of the year from the
show's website.
