"HOME INVASION" MANSION LISTS AT $999,000

IF YOU LIVED HERE YOU COULD BE HOME (INVADED) BY NOW!

Spend a million, and get a thousand bucks in change. That's the offer on the table for Villa Jazwiec, a century old home that was the site of one of the most publicized and possibly imaginary crimes in this City's recent history.

The Big Red Prairie House at 3017 N. Marietta Avenue has just been listed for sale at an asking price of $999,000. The 11-room mansion, assessed at $932,600, is the home of John G. Jazwiec, the former head of Red Prairie, who purchased the six bedroom, 5.5 bath home in March, 2003 for $780,000. The real estate listing by Molly Abrohams of First Weber Realtors cites the mansion’s “desirable East Side” location and “remolded kitchen.” However, in October Jazwiec made headlines when he claimed he was the victim of a home invasion at the desirable location now for sale. He made further headlines when he refused to cooperate with police in the subsequent investigation. Even more headlines were to follow when Ald. Michael S. D’Amato likened Jazwiec to a spoiled child. Finally, at the end of October, Red Prairie announced Jazwiec’s resignation as CEO of the firm, and his impending departure to Chicago, which is the catalyst for this real estate listing, “remolded kitchen” and all. Let's hope the home includes new locks and a state-of-the-art security system.

According to city data, the property will cost you $20,808 per year in taxes.

Milwaukeeworld contacted the Milwaukee Police Department about two particulars regarding the alleged home invasion. We asked if the police had traced any calls to or from the cell phone that Jazwiec said the invader took from the residence. We also asked if any charges had been made to the credit card Jazwiec said the invader also took. The police declined to respond, citing a continuing investigation.

Jazwiec's neighbors have responded enthusiastically to the possible sale of the house, indicating they would be willing to help Abrohams erect the "For Sale" sign, and will gladly take time off of work to help Jazwiec load his earthly goods onto a moving truck and into the Windy City.

As someone who lives in the 3000 block of N. Marietta, I will be glad to see the moving van in front of "Villa Jazwiec" Good riddance!

You are all pathetic, sorry excuses for human beings. Do you have any empathy at all? Or better yet--any sympathy? Because clearly none of you have been subject to a situation such as this. Did it ever cross your narrow minded skulls that this event had traumatizing repercussions? For instance, the fact that their youngest child has to live with the memory of a large man with a gun walking into her house? I also live on the 3000 block and knew the family fairly well and you are sadly mistaken in your poor excuse for a blog. I mean honestly, do you not have anything better to do with your time than to criticize the shortcomings and unfortunate events of others? What if YOUR house got robbed? I suppose you'd like the entire city to call you a whiney little bitch and talk about how much we wanted to get you the hell out of here, and then better yet-we'll go further to attack your character and your family and tarnish your reputation--just for the pure joy of it! Real mature, I'm glad to see the city of Milwaukee is filled with such upstanding citizens.

People who get satisfaction from belittling others are more repulsive and more pathetic than just about anything I've ever seen. Tactics such as you are using are for people with no lives, considering you spend yours analyzing and bringing down other peoples. Why don't you try and analyze your own business--I'm sure if we publasized you in a paper we could discover all sorts of skeletons burrowing in your closet. And hey! If not, we'll just make them up and get the whole city blogging about you! Good promotion of upstanding morals asshole.

It is people like you that make me ashamed to live in this city.

But you don't live in the city any more, "Anonymous"! You moved to Elmhust, Illinois, which is where you were this morning when you sent me this comment.
You lie lie when you say you "also live in the 2000 block," as you lie about so many things.
I had forgotten you. I guess it's time to do a little updating on your status.
I think you deserve a whole new post, with your comment as the centerpiece.

Well, technically speaking just because I message was sent from a particular location doesn't mean I nec. live there. I apologize for my bitter choice of language--I'm not who you think I am so don't waste your time, please. (And I didn't say '2000' block). Situations such as these I just think are disheartening. And at such a young age for me to recognize such inhumanities amongst man is sad--and yes, I get a little impulsive and speak perhaps, beyond my years and out of term.

I would beseech you not to extend this pressing issue, because it would clearly be a waste of your time. I've read your other blogs, and I wonder why amongst them this one has to exist. You write such brilliant things! And you're utterly informative on the majority of the issues you discuss that occur in the Milwaukee and surrounding areas. I just think it's sad when such seemingly bright people destroy others whom they know little to nothing about. So, i guess I'm partially a hypocrite, temporarily blinded by my own emotion, and my post belittles you, and I admit fault for that. I'm sorry for my offense, I hope you may take into consideration the sensitivity this issue has, and the plausible cause it has to upset somebody emotionally. I also hope you are able to take my apology into consideration as well, I was wrong to post anything, and I was wrong to assume things about you when I do not know you personally.

I also hope that you will let sleeping dogs lie, as i have aroused them enough already with my adolescent misjudgment.

-Thanks and Apologies.
