REPUBLICAN PARTY BIRTHPLACE TO HOST HEMP RALLY TONIGHT

Activist Ben Masel has rented the Birthplace of the Republican Party to host a Hemp Rally this evening, Thursday, October 18th, 2007.
The event, to be held at the Little White Schoolhouse in Ripon, is to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Wisconsin Hemp Order, a trade organization founded in that city to "promote the general welfare of the hemp industry in the state."
Masel's keynote speaker is David P. West, PhD., a Wisconsin native who is the last person to get a Drug Enforcement Administration permit to grow hemp. West wrote a scholarly paper in 1998 on the role of hemp in Wisconsin's economy.
What a great stunt!

Thanks for the plug. Event went well, the Museum's offered us space for a permanent display on the historical hemp industry in the area.
