ANOTHER POT BUST AT MEQUON DRUG HOUSE

By Michael Horne

On May 31st, we told you about Sean M. Irwin and Kevin P. Jacobs, both 19, who were arrested by Mequon police on May 25th on felony marijuana charges after undercover agents purchased 3 ounces of reefer from them.

They were busted in a duplex at 11120 N. Range Line Road, within 1,000 feet of Lakeshore Middle School. As a result, they were also nailed with a charge modifier of “possession with intent to deliver / distribute a controlled substance on or near a school.”

Four days later, it appears the Mequon police made another bust in the same house when they arrested 19-year old Keith A. Lally for possession of over 1,000 grams of THC. Police found 2-1/2 pounds of the cannabis behind his refrigerator.

The police were assisted in their search by Vero, a police dog who joined the force on May 18th.

However, Lally was not charged by Ozaukee County District Attorney Sandy Ann Williams until yesterday. And, although news reports indicate Lally was arrested in what appears to be the same building as the earlier pair, he was not subject to the charge modifier as the others were. Isn’t that interesting? It appears Lally attends Concordia University in Mequon, where he is on the basketball team. You have to wonder if he has also been doing a little singing over the summer break.

Milwaukeeworld has placed a call to Williams, a Hamlin University Law School ’83 grad, to ask why she took so long to charge Lally, and why she failed to seek the enhanced charges against him.
