ALD. HAMILTON DIVORCE FINAL

The contested divorce of Connie Caston Hamilton and Ald. Ashanti Hamilton is final. Judge Maxine A. White made the ruling on June 11^th, 2007.

Connie White filed for divorce in April, 2006. In the ruling, the judge ordered Ald. Hamilton, 33, to pay $2,500 Family Support beginning July 1^st and ending in May, 2008. The Maintenance provisions remain open at this time.

Mrs. Hamilton is to pay the mortgage on her home beginning July 1^st, and is to reimburse Ald. Hamilton $1,440 for a “vocational evaluation,” and “missed car payments.” They will split their retirement accounts, and their tax bills to date.

According to Hamilton’s official biography, he is the eldest of six children, and “was a golden child filled with hope and concern about humanity.”

The golden one received a J.D. from Thurgood Marshall University, but never practiced law (or got his license), which might be why Mrs. Hamilton hauled him in for a vocational evaluation. Even a novice lawyer might make more than a Milwaukee alderman’s $71,506 per year.

Also, on June 15^th, 2007, a foreclosure suit was brought against the Hamiltons for the property they owned at 5119 N. 39^th St., and which appears to be the residence of Mrs. Hamilton, based on the address Ashanti Hamilton gave when he received a ticket last year for not wearing his seatbelt.
