TWO MORE FELONY COUNTS FOR 16-YEAR OLD FIGURE IN GAY MURDER CASE
A Milwaukeeworld Scoop
By Michael Horne
Corey J. Kleser, held in Juvenile detention since November on charges of homicide, now faces two more felony charges. Kleser, who turned 16 on New Year's Eve, was cited for one count of "Battery by Prisoners," a Class H Felony and another count of "Substantial Battery, Intend Bodily Harm," a Class I Felony.
The charges were consolidated in case 2007CF000755 and filed last week.
The alleged offenses took place on January 20th, 2007. Two days later, a motion was made to move Kleser to adult confinement. The judge rejected this motion, as was reported by milwaukeeworld on January 24th.
At the time we speculated there might have been some mischief that prompted the request to move Kleser to adult court. Officials would not comment at the time, but the filing of the charges in the present case indicates that something, indeed was up.
A plea hearing is scheduled for February 22nd, 2007 at 10 a.m., concurrent with a hearing previously scheduled for the homicide case.
