The State of Wisconsin Ethics Board this morning denied the request of Milwaukee detective and attorney Jeffrey B. Norman to allow him to file his Statement of Economic Interests with the board after the due date. Staff attorney Jonathan Becker told www.milwaukeeworld.com that the board had made its determination this morning and it will be posted on its website sometime today. The hearing was held yesterday, after being called last Friday.
The board's decision means that Norman's name will not appear on the February 20th primary ballot for Municipal Judge, Branch 3 of the City of Milwaukee to replace the retiring James Gramling.
Norman has said he plans to remain in the race as a write-in candidate. [Click here for other milwaukeeworld postings on this story.]
Five other candidates remain on the ballot: Wm. Baldon III, Phillip M. Chavez, Jennifer Havas, Robert B. Rondini and Jay A. Unora.
The top two candidates advance to the April 3rd general election.
Here is a copy of the press release from the board.
