The heat is on in Milwaukeeworld, so welcome to the swelter. This week we note that Polish Fest suffered some Mass confusion on Sunday, when celebrants were turned away from their tent of worship. We then travel to the lower east side where construction is underway on a ten story condominium project. But where was the Mayor? We tracked him down at a south side restaurant where he was eating with a former acting governor. Wonder what they were talking about? So do we, but don’t ask celebrity diners Spivak and Bice, who were in the same restaurant as the mayor – but on a different story. We also make note of the pedigree of Ald. Michael D’Amato’s new aide, and marvel at the politics inherent in an upcoming wedding. Then, it’s downtown to fill our closets with more stuff from a soon-to-be-defunct resale shop, and head down to the Pfister in a tuxedo for a banquet honoring one of Milwaukee Brewing’s heroes. Finally, a letter from Capital City from a new resident, fresh out of Milwaukeeworld and on his own in Madison.
There is more stuff in the file, and as always, let me hear from you.
